Basically... new game... I'm likin it!

So my latest game has gone through a number of different phases... the first one was the one pictured in my last post, then another that used the same character, but built everything else from the ground up. I'm now on the third (and hopefully final) phase for this game. I'm almost done with the first level (it still needs a background!!!) Then I will move on to the other three. Here's my latest screen shot.
This game is a defending game where you have to hold your ground against waves of enemies. There will be a ton of weapons and it should be fun!
After the complete failure of Splorg... I've decided to just forget about it and move on to bigger and better things.
So I'm starting work on my latest game, "Pirate Pillage!"
Pirate Pillage is set in colonial times. You play as a pirate who seeks the possession of a valuable jewel held by the British. You will attack innocent ships, take over towns, and upgrade your way up to victory.
The game is currently in the concept stage. I'll be getting some code done as soon as I can... but until then... you'll just have to stare at a random picture of a pirate!
So, with the help of my brother, the project was finally named Splorg!
But as most projects do, there were a few complications with technology and conflicts with what I wanted the game to look and feel like... and what it actually did.
So I started work on Splorg v1.2.
Version 1.2 is the same game as the original, but I remaking it to make it better and more awesome!
You can see what the old game looked like by checking out my current profile pic (its Splorg being squeezed through a gap.) At the time, I was quite proud of that pic and I thought the game looked great! But after talking to my brother... I soon realized that a remake was in order! He said that it's a great idea and he thinks it could do well, but I had to give it my all, otherwise, a more experienced flash programmer could come by and use the same idea, but make it better...
So this a screen from the test level that I've got right now. In it you can find:
A cleaner level
Better drawn items including the banko (the blue guy)
A more detailed background (it even moves!)
A power up that allows you to break though those boulders!
Can't wait to finish this one so you all can see it!
So, I really like the programming I used behind my flash titled "Glide." The only problem was that it was really boring and it basically had no point... So that's why I'm using similar tech to use on my new game which doesn't have a name yet :(
The game kinda reminds me of the game "Loco Roco" It kinda has that feel as your are a blob that goes around a level. I added gravity and I filled in the shape to give it this feel.
The movement and main game mechanics are finished, but I still need to work on a lot of things... Including making it a game worth playing! Here's a screen from what I've got so far. (That bar like thing on the left is a platform that moves up and down.)
Have you ever wanted to glide around, without a care in the world. Experience what it's like to be a careless amoeba like creature whose only purpose is to collect items to make you bigger... though there is danger in this world. You can get hurt and your size will reflect it!
-:Skate:- 2 is in the last phase of development (level design), so i've begun work on my new project...
this is a game where you are a bit of bacteria in a body of water. Your main goal is to evolve as far as possible in the level. I don't want to give too much away, so I'll leave you with my latest screenshot.
Development on -:Skate:- 2 has started today! Some things you have to look forward to:
- More levels -
More levels are being added for longer gameplay. I'm thinking about making different sets of levels instead of a long stream on them so you don't have to play through all of them in one sitting if you don't want to
- More tricks -
More tricks were a suggestion, and I like the idea. New tricks will be added. Even ones that involve more than a single button press!
- Combos -
Plan on big air to pull of some sweet combos and show off your skills
Although a level editor is planned to be somewhere in -:Skate:-'s future, don't count on it being in this one! It will likely have a portal entry to itself.
